The Nasty Truth About Using Detergents on Your Face…

The normal pH level our skin is between 5.0 and 5.6. Nature has given us perfectly balanced skin which lies between Acidic and Neutral. Our skin borders on the acidic side which prevents bacteria from growing. If you use a hand soap to wash your face, your pH level could increase and could even rise to somewhere between 5.7 and 6.8 which would give you a very strong alkaline level making it the perfect incubator for growing bacteria. Detergents remove grease and dirt leaving your hands, clothes and dishes feeling squeaky clean. It also leaves your face or hands feeling very dry. These types of detergents drain all the oil and moisture from your skin. So for a person with oily skin, you might feel better in the short run, but you will soon realize that the more you use it, the more your skin will turn from oily to dry. You must maintain the proper balance of oil in your skin to prevent your body from manufacturing excessive oils.

You should be safe with any cleanser that is specifically designed for using on your face. Good cleansers are designed to keep the pH balance of your skin in the normal range. Try facial cleansers by SeneGence. They are perfectly formulated to keep your pH balance at normal. http://bit.ly/nYuW9I

I don’t smoke…but do you…or someone you know?

Did you know that most experts consider smoking the number one cause of premature aging?  They say that nicotine can destroy collagen and elastin in your skin.  They even go so far as to say it effects the tiny blood vessels in your face that feed and nourish the skin.  And if that isn’t scary enough, you are using the same muscles around your mouth every time you smoke which can ultimately cause deep creases.  I guess I have noticed that many women who smoke do look a bit weathered around the edges?

As we get older the cell renewal cycle of our skin slows down.  This can cause the build up of dead skin cells which can also add years to how we look. Exfoliating these dead skin cells is one of the fastest ways to look younger, aside from not smoking.

I don’t mean to harp on the necessity of not smoking.  I am a bit overweight and truly understand how difficult kicking a habit can be.  But if you choose to abuse your skin, the very least you can do is exfoliate.  I’ve posted this product before in my May 9th 2010 blog.  So I’ll just simply say…SeneGence’s exfoliator is unique, it’s economical and it REALLY WORKS! You’ve just got to try it…even if you don’t smoke. www.longlastinglips.com

I’m doing the happy dance…

I just got back from our annual SeneGence seminar in Newport Beach last month and came back with two new products that I’m absolutely over the moon about. I’ll feature one now and one later. (I know, I’m such a tease).

First here’s a little history. Yorm Fishman, our chemist, who by the way has been with us from the inception of our company 11 years ago, was vacationing on the beaches of Brazil when he witnessed a Brazilian woman rubbing her “tuchas” with sand. Wow…what a great way to exfoliate. So he brought the idea back to his lab and created this amazing new Polishing Exfoliator. As we age, our skin cycle slows down and natural exfoliation doesn’t occur as often as it used to. This gentle facial scrub for all skin types is made with volcanic sand and speeds up cell turnover plus gives your face the softness of a babies butt. It is the healthy solution to harsh & expensive microdermabrsion procedures. Here’s what it does:

· Foams to remove excess dirt and oil
· Exfoliates to remove dead skin cells
· Polishes by finely buffing the skin for a luminous sheen

Can you hardly wait to try it? Remember it’s guaranteed. Call me for more details…702 306-5974
