The Benefits of Using Liquid Foundation Over Powder/Mineral Based Products

The benefits of using a liquid foundation are numerous.  If you choose a quality liquid foundation, you’ll not only receive the moisture your skin needs but you’ll also find active ingredients that will increase cellular renewal. Here are just a few of the many reasons a liquid foundation is far more nourishing than using powder or mineral based products.

1. Liquid foundation adds an extra barrier between the skin and the elements that assault us every day. Get protection from pollution, both indoors and out , with a liquid foundation.

2. Using a liquid foundation locks moisture in your skin.

3. A liquid foundation minimizes pores.

4. Liquid foundation fills in fine lines and wrinkles.

5. Liquid foundation adds a dewy glow to your skin.

6. SeneGence makes a foundation that provides a greater level of coverage over powder products.

7. If you are using liquid foundation by SeneGence it will provide you with long-lasting coverage for up to 8 hours or more.

Caring for your skin with products that nourish and supply your skin with the moisture it needs will make a visible difference to you. Notice how dry and “cakey” women look when wearing mineral makeup? Resist buying a “name”. Purchase wisely…it will benefit you in the long run.

SunScreen: Do You Need an SPF 15 or 50?

There is so much confusion around which level of sunscreen to buy. Am I good to go with an SPF 15 or do I really need an SPF 50+?  In case you don’t know…SPF is the acronym for ”Sun Protection Factor”. To break that down the SPF will tell you, based on the number, the amount of increased sun protection it provides. Still confused…read on.

First you have to determine how long it takes you to show signs of a sunburn. In my case its about 15 minutes. Here’s an example based on me:

Say I’m using a sunscreen with an SPF factor of 15. I first take my burn time of 15 minutes and multiply it by the SPF factor of 15 to get 225 minutes, which translates to 3  hours and 45 minutes. That means my Sunscreen with an SPF of 15  should protect me from getting a sunburn for 3 hours and 45 minutes.

Here’s the weird part. If it takes me 3 and 3/4 hours to get a sunburn with an SPF 15, there aren’t enough sunlight hours in the day (at least where I live) to warrant buying any sunscreen over at SPF 30. I would be wasting my money for anything that would protect me longer than 7 1/2 hours. Make sense? If I were to be wearing and SPF 50, I’d be protected for 12 1/2 hours. Maybe someone living in Alaska might need protection for that long…but bigger is not always better.

I know I’ve blogged about this before, but I just can’t help myself. SeneGence’s SeneSun is the best sun protection on the planet! You’ll love it because it has Aloe Vera, Orchid Flower Extract, Seaweed Extract and Vitamin B. Not to mention that it has anti-aging skincare built right in AND it will stay put and isn’t greasey…ever. It can be used as your moisturizer under your make-up and will not sting or burn your eyes. As the final brag…it received the “highest” rating of water resistant approval available through independent testing.

So the moral of this story is…buy only what you need. If you burn like a lobster…get a higher SPF. If you have dark olive skin…maybe you only need an SPF 10…or so. Why put unnecessary chemicals on your beautiful skin?

"Mr. Sunshine…Sing Me a Tune"

I was looking in the mirror yesterday and remembering how I used to abuse my skin when I was growing up. For those of you who are my age, you’ll remember when you used to use cocoa butter for a deep rich tan. Or do you remember putting iodine in baby oil? OMG…What were we thinking?

We’ve all heard that sun is bad for your skin. I’ve had three Squamous Cell Carcinomas removed from either my lip or the end of my nose. It wasn’t a pretty picture. I’m really glad I don’t have to worry about using sun screen on my face when I use the combination of SeneGence Daytime Moisturizer and MakeSence Foundation. It gives my an equivalent or an SPF30 without all the chemicals. For the rest of my body, I use SeneGence SeneSun. I like that it is formulated with organic compounds that are water-resistant and oil free. You will love it because it has Aloe Vera, Orchid Flower Extract, Seaweed Extract and Vitamin B. It won’t sting or burn your eyes and has received the “highest” rating of water resistant approval available through independent testing.

Just because it’s September, don’t think you are safe from the harmful effects of the sun. Wouldn’t you rather be protected from the suns UV rays with a moisturizing anti-aging skin care formula than with all those chemicals?
